Sweet Pink is a shimmery pink nude color. Since this a shimmery color, your lips have to be moisturized before you put it on otherwise, the shimmer particles will cling to the dry areas and make your lips horrible. All in all, it does not have the smoothest application. The first time I put it on, I just swept the lipstick across my lips, I could see the shimmer particles just lying on my lips and the dry areas were prominent- it looked absolutely horrible. I don’t why I spent 49 riyals on this product. I played around with it for a few days, and I finally figured out that, if I dab it on my lips after some lip balm, it looks pretty good and the shimmer isn’t too overwhelming. The formula of this lipstick isn’t that great and it is chunky due to the shimmer particles, and it is very drying. I do wear it sometimes when I’m in the mood for a nude lip. Best suited for fair to medium skin tones.
Where To Find It: Selected pharmacies and City Plaza for 49 SR
I must admit, I have to give Lisa Eldridge credit for this genius tip I saw in her “Quick Brightening Makeup Tutorial” on YouTube. She mentioned that to brighten up a dull complexion, use a lip color that you know will brighten up your face. I know it may seem obvious, but I actually never really thought of that. So, I as I went through my makeup collection, I found that Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the “Honey” gives that brightening effect on my complexion. I tried on the lipstick, and I was amazed to see how true this trick is. What is your lip color that brightens up your face?
Here’s the link to her video, it is definitely worth watching!
I’ve only recently discovered this page on facebook. It has the cutest little doodle art pictures of things that make people happy, and I wanted to share my two favorite ones. Which one are your favorite ones? Comment down below!
Garnier Roll-On Under Eye Concealer: A justified cult favorite. When you put on this lightweight concealer you experience a cooling effect on your skin that just feels so good. It It conceals and brightens up your eyes, I use this everyday. However, since it is a lightweight concealer, it won’t cover the darkest of under eye circles and I haven’t noticed that it treats in either. I love this product and will never stop buying it.
Where You Can Find This: Any supermarket and pharmacy will have this. About 26 Riyals
The Body Shop Duo Vanilla Body Butter: I never understood the hype behind these body butters because I just thought it was a regular moisturizer that does nothing special. I picked this up during the sale, and it cost me only 25 riyals! (Bargain! Since its normal price is 75 riyals). Honestly, I’m so glad I picked this up because it does really make a difference to your skin. I never moisturize my body regularly, but since I have this, I look forward to putting this on. The best part about this, other then the lovely vanilla scent, is that it has two compartments. One for really dry skin which I use for my elbows and knees and one for normal skin, so you can treat your dry skin and moisturize your normal skin without having to use a special product for those dry areas.
Where You Can Find This: The Body Shop stores around Jeddah for 75 riyals, however, I do recommend buying them when they are on sale for 25 riyals.
Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie: This my “your lips but better color” never leaves my makeup bag. When I can’t be bothered to choose another lip color, I usually just put this on because it is just so easy to apply-you don’t even need a mirror. This sheer wash of color is perfect for everyday. The only problem is that it does not stay on your lips for a long time, but I love this color so much that the staying power does not matter to me at all, in fact, this tube of lipstick is almost finished!
Where You Can Find This: City Plaza for 55 riyals.
We have all embarrassed ourselves and done stupid things in the past, and when we remember those moments, we cringe and think “Man, what was I thinking?”. I have done my fair share of things I am not proud of, and I always mentally punish myself for my stupidity. Now, let’s face, the world does not revolve around me, so, what are the chances that the boy in my 12th grade physics class is going to remember how bad a pulled an embarrassing joke on me? I will remember it for the rest of my life because it was embarrassing for me, but he will not because I’m sure he has other things to think about. So instead of being upset at myself for being so stupid, I might as well let the past go, because no ones going to remember it except for me? I don’t need to hold on to that kind of stuff because it’s not me any good. So sayonara embarrassing stupid moments of my past, I am moving on!
It was 8 AM. I was in the hospital cafeteria waiting for the bus to take me college, which would arrive at 9 AM. Phone in my lap-away from plain sight, earphones in my ear, I was watching Lisa Eldridge’s make up tutorial. An acquaintance of mine, sitting across from me thought I was asleep and brought me a cup of coffee so I could stay awake throughout the whole day-sitting through pharmacology and 3 hours of pathology. It was one of the nicest thing that someone has done for me-bear in mind, I am an above average coffee fanatic, so coffee equals happiness for me. I felt obliged to stop watching Lisa Eldridge’s video on my phone, and have a friendly conversation with her, it was the least I could do to repay her. We had a pleasant conversation, I asked her which school she studied at, how many years has she lived in the country, asked if she did her homework. It made me realize, I see this girl almost everyday, and I don’t even take the time to have a conversation with her for more that a minute. I’ve missed out on potential friendship, and it took a cup of coffee to discover it! Firstly, coffee has the power to create friendships is the first thing I’ve discovered today. Secondly, I shouldn’t underestimate friendship, and have a conversation that lasts more than a minute with people that I come across everyday. Creating new friendships makes me genuinely happy and has encouraged me to not shy away from talking to people. We should get to know the people around us, do something nice for someone else, you never know, it may brighten their day, but if will definitely brighten yours!
I encourage everyone reading this to do something nice for someone today, and make a new friend. You”ll get genuine happiness out of it!
You never know when you need to jot down something, whether it’s an idea for your blog, a price of a product you are looking to buy, or a reminder. Keeping a small notebook and pen in your bag or even your car is so convenient for those times when you’re in search of paper and a pen. You will thank yourself for this!
