Dior Addict Lipgloss

Dior Addict Lipgloss

These are my first Dior products, and I’m really glad I ended up liking these cause it’d be so depressing if they sucked considering the price you have to pay for them. I got these two very spring-ready shades, a shimmery pink Nuit De Juin and a coral shade called Ailee. These pretty much have everything you want a gloss to have. If you are an avid coffee drinker like me (coffee all day, everyday right?) you’d be happy to know that the glossy lips remain after drinking a whole cup of coffee. The best part about them is that they do not feel sticky on the lips when you apply them-lipgloss haters this is a good thing! I’d love to hear your thoughts on them, comment below!

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

I’d like you to welcome the new addition to my every growing makeup collection, The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in the shade 03. After hearing so much about it from the YouTube community and reading so many blog posts about it, I had to have it, and now, so do you. I’ve always been a fan of The Body Shop makeup, so I had pretty high expectations from the start. Firstly, this bronzer is matte, so you can wear it in the daylight and you won’t have to worry about looking like a disco ball (how embarrassing!). Next pro: you’ll be happy to know you won’t be looking like an oompa loompa, it does not make you look orange. The powder itself is not chalky at all, it is so creamy and blendable, all in all, a dream to apply on your face. If all this has not sold you, it is not very expensive either at about 79 SR.

Pink Nudes: Everyday Lip Products

If you’re the type of person that can’t leave the house without having some sort of wash of color on your lips, and want to look presentable while looking effortless, I present to you my absolute favorite everyday lip products for just the occasion.

1. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector: I was actually watching one of Amelia Liana’s videos on youtube, and asked her what she was wearing because it looked so pretty yet natural, she replied (to my surprise) saying it was this product. Even if you’re not a gloss girl, this product is so light on your lips and it’s non-sticky formula is perfect for those against lip glosses, and so easy to apply as you are walking out the door.

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie: It has one of those formulas that you don’t need to look in the mirror to apply it. It has that perfect wash of pink that takes your natural lip color to another level.

3.  Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey: You don’t need to look in the  mirror to apply, stays on for quite a long time,  very pigmented, and if that is not enough, it’s inexpensive.

4. Benefit Dandelion Lipgloss:  It doesn’t really add color to your lips but gives the effect of plump lips when you apply it due to the shimmer in this gloss, and is very moisturizing for all those who have dry lips. If you need to me to convince you more than I already have, it smells SO good and packaging is pretty.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 55

Living in Jeddah, where the sun is shining bright day in and day out, it is absolutely necessary to wear sunscreen to keep your skin healthy, and I have found the perfect sunscreen. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 55 is my new favorite. It claims to be lightweight which I was really nervous about because sunscreens with an SPF higher than 30 tend to be very thick and can clog my pores and cause breakouts. Even though I have combination skin, it did caused no breakouts whatsoever since I started using it 4 months ago, and it moisturized the dry parts of my skin.  It sinks into your skin immediately and does make it look shiny. In a way, it acts like a primer, smooths out your skin for an easy foundation application. Another plus about this is that it is water-resistant, so if you’re outside in Jeddah shopping on Tahlia Street before the shops close for Zuhr prayer and are sweating, you know it will not budge.

Hitting Pan: NYX, The Body Shop, and Revlon

Hitting Pan

Hitting pan on your products is a sure way of knowing that it is well loved, and the amount of times you’ve dipped your brush into that product is unimaginable.  Technically you can’t hit pan on lipsticks, but if you have an inch of your lipstick left, you know it was well loved and it still counts as a “hit pan product” -for me anyway (lets break the rules a bit).

Swatches
L-R: The Body Shop Blush in 10, NYX Cream Blush in Glow, Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

The first product I’ve hit pan on is the NYX Rouge Cream Blush in 05 Glow, and let me tell you why. This product is so easy to blend and imitates that natural “glowing from within” look that every girl (I’m sure) loves.

The Body Shop blush in 10 is one of those products that I know I can just throw on without a thought and will look good. Its a coral color that looks great on medium  and tanned skin, and also brightens up the whole face. I’ve gotten so many compliments when I wear this blush.

The Revlon lip butter in Berry Smoothie is my all time favorite fool-proof lip color. It is one of those “my lips but better” color. If I don’t know what to do with my face in the morning and I only have 5 minutes to get my face together, this is one of the lip products that I will most definitely choose. What I love about the formula is that, when I don’t have blush around me and I have to perk up my face, I can just dab some on my cheeks and I’m ready to go. Personally, I’m a little sad that this is on its last breath.
