As most of you know, it is the end of yet another school year, which means, it is the time many of us suffer through final exams. Because I will be studying most of the time, I don’t want to put out posts that I haven’t worked my hardest on, it won’t be fair to the integrity of this blog or to my readers and right now I want to focus all my energy on studying. I will be back with my 2 posts a week schedule after I’m done, and I can hardly wait! For those of you who are in the midst of finals, good luck, may we all get through this alive.
I’m going to make a cup of coffee, cause I feel like this right now:
It’s a shame that you don’t get NARS products here in Jeddah because ever since I’ve got a hold of this lip gloss, I can’t help but want more. The color I got is called Palace Vendome which is a beautiful, bright, raspberry color. The formula is sticky but that’s why it lasts longer on the lips than lip glosses that aren’t sticky. There is no shimmer in the formula but leaves a very glossy look to lip which I am loving. The color applies evenly on the lips, is semi-opaque and is also very moisturizing. This color is really versatile and will look good on a lot of skin tones.
I’ve been wearing the Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance body mist a lot, as you can see I’m almost out. I like to pair it with the Amber Romance body lotion for an extra boost of scent. If you’re into sweet vanilla and amber scents, you will love this.
I don’t like to wear lip gloss that much, but currently I can’t stop wearing this Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Ailee, the color is perfect for the summer. The shimmer isn’t so obvious, it is extremely moisturizing, and the formula is not very thick and gooey.
Lately, I’ve been sporting natural pink cheeks with the help of MAC’s Dollymix. It’s perfect for the “no makeup makeup look” and adds a bit of glow to your cheeks due to the slight shimmer.
Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf make the best vanilla lattes in town. I mean, if I could, I would have them all day long (no joke). Now that they sell their Vanilla Powder, I can have the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf experience at home, and I can’t resist having at least 2 cups of lattes a day (My only woe is the amount of adipose tissue it’s adding to my body, but life’s too short to care right?)
I thought I’d do something a little different today and talk about the Middle Eastern cosmetics brand Mikyajy instead of reviewing makeup that is available worldwide. I feel like there are lack of reviews about this brand which is disappointing because this brand is really understated in the Middle East. I am a big fan of the Sabaya eyeliner which I used throughout highschool and the 22K matte lipsticks, so I was eager to try out new products.
A lot of the makeup products in the store look great, but I ended up picking these 2 lip liners from the Ana Hilwa range in the colors Al Bating and Qaisumah and a blush from the same range in the color Abu Dhabi.
For the cost of these lip liners (19 SR) I think these lip liners are amazing. Al Batin is a true dark brown color and Qaisumah is a medium pink color. They are creamy enough that they glide on easily on the lips, but not overly creamy that they rub off easily. The pigmentation of these liners are great, I mean, just one swipe on hands departs so much color. I’m personally really impressed with these, and probably going to pick up some more.
The blush I picked up is in the color Abu Dhabi, a medium pink color. I didn’t find the blush to be as amazing as the lip liners. It was okay, not so great, but not so horrible. The texture of the blush is ever so slightly chalky, I thought that they could be a bit more buttery. This blush is sheer so it is great for those are heavy handed (aka me). I do love the color of this blush, so I’m probably going to where it more often than not. The price of the blushes in this range are 20 SR, which I think is great for those who are just getting started with makeup, or for those of you who want to try a new shade of blush but don’t really want to pay break the bank for a color which they may not like.
