Summer has finally come..well Summer is a year round season here but it is way hotter now..(you know what I mean if you live here in Jeddah). With the hot weather comes out our summer beauty and summer appropriate wardrobe. I’ve picked out my favorite summery bits that make this heat a bit more bearable.
I’ve been loving these Tory Burch flip flops which I got from the Tory Burch store here in Jeddah (similar here). They are just perfect when the weather is too hot and wearing closed shoes isn’t a feasible option in the scorching heat. They are really comfortable to walk in as are they really beautiful.
Since it is way too hot, I like to just spritz on the very light and fresh Victoria’s Secret fragrance mist instead of wearing full on perfumes. I have an assortment of fragrance mists from Victoria’s Secret, but currently I’ve been using the Be Seduced one which smells kind of sweet, but really really good!
What is summer without a pastel color on the nails? I love the Barry M nail polish in Berry. It is a pastel purple-lilac shade that is a perfect summer appropriate color. There is just something about freshly painted nails that brings a smile to my face-especially if it is a pastel.
I don’t know what it is about the Ikea website that just lures you in- you end up browsing for hours and hours and pretend like you need another mug, although your cabinet is overflowing mugs. The main reason I went to the website was to see if the Pokal mug (bottom most) was available here in Jeddah, after seeing it on a SacconJoly vlog. Evidently, it was and I have been drinking my coffee and tea ever day from it. As if I needed another mug, the 365+ mug came along in my trolley (top most). I went on to find this white plant pot which is so adorable from the Skurar collection. I have no idea what I’m going to use it for, but for now, it is sitting on my vanity looking all white and pretty. The unfortunate thing is that Ikea doesn’t actually deliver things to your door, so you have to go out of your way to visit the store, but that’s the price I’m willing to pay for all the cute things they have!
I added coffee to my tea and decided to write a vlog inspired blog post today. It is currently 9AM, I’ve been awake since 5 AM because Ramadan timings have really screwed up my sleeping schedule. Anyone else in the same boat as me? Nope? Just me? So I was watching an Essiebutton vlog and I realized that I love watching vlogs and I like watching other people’s lives and what they do during the day so much that I decided to my own version of a vlog, I don’t know if that makes me sound creepy but yeah.
I’m sitting on the couch right now, sipping a cup of tea (with coffee) and re-watching another essiebutton vlog and I realized I’m in absolute bliss right now. The tea is quite good, the house is quiet, and I’m doing something I love as well getting some time to myself to think about everything. I think that starting your day the proper way has a huge impact on the rest of your day. I feel like you need to have time in the morning to have a cup of tea or coffee and have some time doing something you enjoy and kind of get mentally prepared for the rest of the day, you know, rethink about what your goals for the day, create a to-do list, rethink your goals for the week and life in general. Having a perspective of how you want your life to turn out in the beginning of your day helps you put your goals into actions every day and in my opinion that’s really important.
On a slightly different note, Sunday is the first day of this 3 week long medical internship/medical course and I’m so excited for it but I’m also so VERY terrified of that day. It is going to be my first time behind the scenes in a hospital. I’ve always been on the patient side of a hospital but I’m excited to experience what doctors do on a daily basis. I’m excited to gain new experiences and get know people but I’m scared because I feel like I don’t know anything about medicine! What am I going to do if they ask me a question I have no clue about? What if I make a fool out of myself? Despite all these what ifs, I’m sure everything will be alright, at least, I hope so. Any other medical students feel that way? If things get interesting, I might even write a blog post about the internship/course.
P.S. I’ve been a absolutely loving this downloadable wallpaper from Kate Spade, it adds so much life into your wallpaper! Click here if you want to download it.
To all those celebrating, Eid Mubarak! Happy First of August, let’s make this month a good one shall we? Be the best version of yourself today.
As most of you know, it is the end of yet another school year, which means, it is the time many of us suffer through final exams. Because I will be studying most of the time, I don’t want to put out posts that I haven’t worked my hardest on, it won’t be fair to the integrity of this blog or to my readers and right now I want to focus all my energy on studying. I will be back with my 2 posts a week schedule after I’m done, and I can hardly wait! For those of you who are in the midst of finals, good luck, may we all get through this alive.
I’m going to make a cup of coffee, cause I feel like this right now:
I know its the end of January and most people post their resolutions like the first or second week of January, but I had finals and had no time to think about the rest of this year when my future was on the line! I finally got the chance to jot down some beauty resolutions that I want to achieve this year.
1. Drink More Water: I hope you don’t kill me if I tell you I drink about 4 or less (If I’m busy) glasses of water a day, which is pretty horrible.
2. Drink Less Coffee (And Without Sugar): I cannot live without coffee, so I’m not going to cut coffee completely out of my life (let’s face it, that is not going to ever happen).
3. Have A Pamper Session Every Week: Usually I’m either to tired or too busy give myself some proper attention. I’d like to spend more time on myself-put on face masks, properly exfoliate my skin, apply body lotion etc.
4. Make Time To Exercise
Let me know your beauty resolutions down below, I’d like to read them!
I really loved the color of my nails today so I thought I’d share it with you all. I’m wearing Barry M in Navy (posted a picture in my recent haul) and my accent nail is Claire’s gold nail polish which doesn’t have a name.
Good news just keeps on coming. First Soap and Glory, and now Tim Hortons is making its way to Jeddah, soon to Mall of Arabia. If you don’t know about Tim Hortons, its a famous Canadian franchise known for its coffee and doughnuts. I first tried Tim Hortons in Dubai this past summer, and I ever since, I have been converted into a fan. If you are planning to visit once it opens, (I know I will suffer an hour long ride to Mall of Arabia to get there) try the French Vanilla. It is to die for. I’m planning on buying a whole load of their French Vanilla cans to take home with me.
Update: Tim Hortons is now open in Mall of Arabia on the ground floor in front of H&M
I’m sure many of you are familiar with inspiration boards that you create and put it in front of your desk so you can be inspired whenever you work. Nowadays, we spent most of our time on our laptops working, watching, writing, reading, and I thought, why not be inspired every time we turn on our laptops? So I created a collage of the pictures that inspire me on picmonkey.com, and set it as my desktop background. I think it is a great idea for a little boost of inspiration every time we view our desktop. Here’s my inspiration board, which includes outfits that I like, furniture ideas, hair styles, nail colors, and celebrities:
So inspiration has hit me today, and I decided that I’m going to start a new series on my blog about 5 things that either I am grateful for or 5 things that make me happy. These posts will be posted every Friday since it is the weekend, and I can collect the things that made me happy or grateful during the week and share them with you. These could include the little things that make me happy/grateful or big things. Hopefully it will encourage you to write down what makes you happy or what you are grateful for and share it with everyone (including me!)
1. Organized and Clean Room: Yeah I might have OCD, but walking into my room knowing that it is clean and organized gives me sense of satisfaction? A messy room makes feel down and uninspired and prevents me from feeling my best.
2. The fact that I have a cup of coffee in my hand: Here is a little thing you don’t know about me: I am passionately obsessed with coffee. I love reading about it, I love making coffee, I love drinking about coffee, I love looking at pictures of coffee.
3. Waking Up Early In the Morning: It is so statisfying knowing that you have THE WHOLE DAY to work towards your goals.
4. Writing: Writing is my passion. I love writing. When I have the chance to sit down with a cup of coffee and write about anything, I feel happy.
I’ve only recently discovered this page on facebook. It has the cutest little doodle art pictures of things that make people happy, and I wanted to share my two favorite ones. Which one are your favorite ones? Comment down below!
