Skin Care Dream Team

Skin Care Dream Team

Hello my beautiful TLT readers!

Today I wanted to share with you 2 products that have completely changed me skin. My skin used to be really dull and lifeless and just lacked luminosity. It got to the point that every time I looked at my skin, I was just really disappointed. I had these two products from Clarins, the Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner and the  Vital Light Serum and decided that maybe I should give them a try. I started to use the toner every other day and the serum every day after cleansing my face before going to bed. After just 2 weeks, my skin was glowing and luminous and full of life and the dark spots on my skin (due to breakouts) were considerably lighter. My skin tone was evened out and texture of my skin was soft and smooth. My skin was looking so good that once a friend of mine complimented that  “my makeup was looking good” when I wasn’t wearing any makeup that day at all. No foundation, no concealer, nothing. I think it was the combination of the exfoliation from the toner that allowed the serum to penetrate deep into my skin.  In fact, after using serum, I looked up what it claims to do-

What it is formulated to do:
Clarins pioneers a new frontier of skin science with a supercharged serum that defies the signs of aging in just two weeks. This triple-action complex of Hexylresorcinol, a tripeptide, and pioneer plant extracts helps correct the appearance of dark spots while visibly lifting, firming, and restoring the deep luminosity of young-looking skin. This serum works best with Vital Light Day or Vital Light Night.”

-and it just did what it was supposed to. Well, I don’t really need the lifting or firming, but it for sure restored the deep luminosity of my skin. The serum is so lightweight, it didn’t aggravate my oily skin and just penetrated right into the skin. I’m so impressed, I don’t think I’m ever going to without these products again.

For the Face

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir, together, leaves me with glowing skin. Both of them together are like magic. Whenever I’m having a horrible skin day, I just put a few drops of both in my hands, mix it together, apply it on my face. By morning time, my face looks much, much better.

For The Hands

I have very, very dry hands (thanks to Jeddah weather) and the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream helps a lot with keeping them moisturized. Because this is a balm and has a very heavy texture, it is good to put on at night when you know you won’t be using your hands as it allows the formula to sink into the skin and do its magic.

For The Lips

I do like to change me lip balm quiet a bit, but I have been using the Neutrogena 6 Hour Protection Lip Balm recently. Unlike most lip balms, this one doesn’t leave the lips glossy, it dries matte which means that it won’t slip and slide off the lips. It has a very chemically scent and taste to it which I do not enjoy, but it does moisturize my lips.

For The Body

The Victoria’s Secret PINK Hand and Body Cream in Soft and Dreamy smells insanely good. Who wouldn’t love going to sleep smelling all warm and sweet. I have done a review on it if you’d like to know more about it.

Review: Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir

Just say the words “glowing skin” and I’ll stop everything I’m doing to listen. When I read reviews of this on a couple of blogs, I was like, I NEED this product in my life, and so a couple of days later, I went out and got it.

Basically this product is a moisturizing serum containing glycolic acid and antioxidants targeting aging skin. Now I don’t have aging skin, but the main reason that I tried it is because the fact that it has glycolic acid (8%-10% according to Paula’s Choice). It is very hard find products with glycolic acid here in Jeddah, so I was all for trying this out.

Product claim: Gives you “hydrated, smoother skin after 1 night”. After 7 nights, it claims to give you “resurfaced skin that appears smoother and tauter.”

The Results: I’m always skeptical about drugstore products being true to their word, and I must say, I was surprised to find out that this DOES WHAT IT CLAIMS! Shocking I know. After 1 night, my skin was looking plump, hydrated, smooth to the touch, the redness in my skin was gone, and above all, my skin was glowing! I was so happy with the results, that I was excited to see what would my skin look like after 7 nights. After 7 nights, my skin was still glowing, if not slightly more. No sign of redness on my face. The scars on my skin were reduced ever so slightly. Application of makeup on face was way smoother-like I actually noticed a big difference.

I don’t know think that I’m going to be using this is product every day since it is anti aging and I don’t need it right now, I just turned 20! However, I’m planning on using this like once a month for a week, to give my skin a boost. I’m hoping that the scars on my skin will reduce a lot more, but let’s see if that happens. I will keep you posted! Also, it is very important to use sunscreen while using this product.

If your skin lacks a bit of glow, and needs a little boost, I recommend you try this product, however, this is anti aging, so you might want to take precaution.
